Our Practice

History

Mia Bella Pediatrics was founded in 2006 by Dr. Suzy McNulty and Dr. Jennifer Stahl, and was modeled after an "old-fashioned" solo practice. Initially, the two doctors equally shared office hours, newborn rounding, and call, which allowed them to be fully committed to their patients as well as their own families. In June 2016, Dr. Stahl's family decided to relocate to Portland, OR. Fully committed to continuing the vision that Dr. Stahl and Dr. McNulty had when they opened the practice in 2006, Dr. Brandie LaSala was hired in December of 2016, and joined the Mia Bella family after relocating to Orange County from the East Coast.  She too has 2 young children, and will join Dr. McNulty in providing "old-fashioned" care for our Mia Bella patients while raising her two young children concurrently.

Mia Bella embraces FAMILY-CENTERED CARE, where all of our "Pediatrician-Moms" understand the trials and tribulations of both the stay-at-home mom as well as the working mom. Likewise, they fully believe in the concept of "mom-intuition" (or "dad-intuition") and strive to work TOGETHER as a team with the Mia Bella families to provide skilled and compassionate care from birth through college graduation. Mia Bella physicians understand the vital role that families play in ensuring the health and well-being of children and family members of all ages. We respect each child and family’s innate strengths and view the health care experience as an opportunity to build on these strengths and support families in their care giving and decision-making roles. Family-centered approaches has been shown to lead to better health outcomes and wiser allocation of resources as well as greater patient and family satisfaction.

In addition, Mia Bella also embraces the concept of INCLUSIVE CARE, a medical model which encompasses IN HOUSE emotional, social, cognitive, physical, developmental and nutritional support as integral components of health care, WITHOUT having to refer to outside providers or ancillary services.
